The artist behind the sprinkles ✦

About

Hey y’all, I’m Heather Dean, the heart and hands behind Sprinkle Me Silly Cakery! Cake artistry is my happy place. I love taking a little imagination, a whole lot of detail, and someone’s special idea and turning it into something worth celebrating.

My story goes beyond the cakes. I’m also living life on dialysis and navigating a rare, terminal disease called calciphylaxis. Life looks different these days, but creating still gives me something that feels like me: color, purpose, and a little joy to share.

A little more about me

A little creativity. A whole lot of heart.

The artistic side of cake has always had my heart. The colors, the tiny details, the moment an idea finally comes together. Whether a design is soft and elegant or bright and a little over the top, I want it to feel personal to the person celebrating.

✿

The art is my favorite part.

There’s something special about making a cake that feels like someone. Their favorite things, their personality, their big moment. That’s the part I love: turning those little pieces into a design that makes them smile.

These days, I take on a limited number of custom projects as my health and schedule allow. That time creating means so much to me, and I put my heart into the details.

A little behind-the-scenes sweetness ♡

The part you don’t see in the pictures.

One day at a time. ♡

I’ve lived with kidney disease since I was a little girl, and dialysis is now part of my everyday reality. Being diagnosed with calciphylaxis brought another incredibly difficult chapter, filled with pain, uncertainty, and days when even the simplest things feel overwhelming.

I’m still learning how to make room for healing, rest, and the things I love. Some days, that means creating. Other days, it means giving myself permission to slow down. I want to be honest about both. My health affects what I can take on, but it hasn’t taken away the artist in me.

A few of my creations

Made by me, with imagination!

Every design has its own personality. These are a few favorites from my real cake portfolio.

One last little thing...

Your kindness means more than you know.

Whether you’ve trusted me with a celebration, sent a kind message, or simply stopped by to look at my work, thank you. Your patience and support mean so much as I balance my health with something I love. I’m grateful for every chance to bring a little sweetness to someone’s life, including my own.

Love, Heather ♡
