  • Do you accept orders that are within 2 weeks or less?
Sometimes we do, it depends on the type of orders we have already booked. We certainly want to make sure our attention is foremost with our current orders, therefore we do not want to overbook which could potentially cause us to rush through orders. We like to take our time and make sure your order is perfect, so book in advance is my advice.
  • When should I order?
We always suggest booking right away once you have figured out your event date. Even if you are unsure of your theme, you can still place your retainer fee to secure the event date. We tend to fill our schedule up extremely fast and are limited to a certain amount each event week. So to answer this better, whether your event is a year away or a month away, it is never to soon to book.
  • Are your cakes allergan free?
Our products may come in contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. It is your responsibility to notify your guests and hold us harmless to any allergic reaction. Garnished Cakes products may contain inedible materials, such as plastic accessories, floral wire, wooden/plastic dowels, etc. We are not responsible for injury or illness due to the ingestion of said materials.
  • Do you offer treat tables or other edibles besides cakes?
If you order a cake, I will be happy to accommodate any requests regarding treat tables. I am very flexible with the items I am able to create.
  • How can I contact you?
If you are looking to get a quote for a cake, the fastest way to do so is to use the Inquiry link. For all other questions or issues, you can use the Contact page. Sadly, since I work solo its harder for me to stop and answer the phone at all times. Email, text and messaging works best.
  • What are your prices?
I wish there was an easy answer to give you regarding pricing. However, with most of our edibles everything is custom and based off a few additional factors. Therefore, we will be more than happy to provide you a custom quote. It helps to provide the information below; 1. Photo Inspirations 2. Servings 3. Budget Visit our Inquiry link if you wish to learn more about pricing for your order.
  • What if I need to change my date?
Get in contact with us right away and let us know the new date. We will try our best to accommodate you, however the new date may not be available and we will need to figure out a more suitable date for you that works for both parties.
  • What are rush order fees?
We encourage you to place your orders as early as possible. However, we understand that time has a way of going into fast forward. If we can, we will hire extra staff in order to accommodate last minute orders and keep the ovens burning. Please take note that changes to your invoice placed after these deadlines are also considered rush order, especially cake flavors and major design changes.Days are counted on the calendar. Holidays and non business days are included. Please plan accordingly. If we are able to accept your order less than a week in advance, the following rush order fees will apply: 1 or 2 calendar days notice, add 30% 3 calendar days notice, add 25% 4 calendar days notice, add 20% 5 days notice, add 15% 6 days notice, add 10%
  • Can you decline my order?
It is to my discretion whether I want to proceed with your order. It is certainly nothing personal, however it can depend on what is being ordered and the design. As an artist we like to challenge ourselves and create edible art pieces that we truly enjoy. Therefore, I may pass on an order and accept a different order from another client that may be more challenging to me as an artist. Sometimes it isn't about the money being paid, its more so I want to enjoy my job and be happy with what I am doing.
  • Why can I not order certain edibles from you and some from another vendor?
This can get very complicated and theres no fun answers here. Due to insurance that we must pay for each year pertaining to food licensing etc. Garnished Cakes does not permit other vendors to mix with their sweets. To make this more clear, I am going to give you an example. VENDOR A provides the cake, VENDOR B provides the cupcakes. Everyone at your party ends up with food poisoning or is extremely ill. The client wants rectification for the issue, however, which VENDOR is at fault? So with that, when you choose to have an event think about getting all your stuff in once place to make it more simple on the Vendor. Not all vendors have these stipulations in place, but not all vendors follow food and safety guidelines as we do.
  • Do you offer classes?
Not at this time, but possibly in the future. You can catch handy little demo's on my Facebook and Instagram. Soon we will have a full site dedicated to new demo's and tutorials.
  • Can you make a cake that I found a picture of online?
In most cases, we are able to capture the essence of a cake, but not all cakes are created exactly the same way, and our artistry may differ from what you have seen in a picture. We encourage you to send us pictures of cakes you like so we can incorporate various themes to make your creation as unique as your event.
  • Am I able to stop in and buy a baked good?
Unfortunately not, I am not a storefront bakery.
  • Do you have a minimum purchase amount?
Yes, we have a purchase minimum of $165. When you order with Garnished Cakes, expect to meet or exceed the minimum requirement. Why $165 you ask? Well, because we are a home baking business we typically don't have items through the week for people to come in and order. Therefore, we must meet our overhead quota which allows us to be selective with the orders we decide to book.
  • What happens if I am not on time to pickup my order?
All orders must be picked up by the date/time listed on your invoice unless we have previously discussed other arrangements. Not being on time can result in forfeiting your item(s) and forfeiture on the amount paid for the order. We often book pick-up and deliveries back to back so it’s very important to keep the time you schedule. We have implemented a $15 fee if 15 or more minutes late (without notice), it will automatically be charged to the CC that you initially use for your order. If you are late, you also may miss your pickup time and will need to rearrange a different time for pickup. We may be unable to wait for you to arrive due to a delivery timeline etc.
  • How long will I have to make my retainer fee?
Payments must be made within 2 days of receiving your invoice to secure your event date. Otherwise your order will be cancelled. Your order is not guaranteed as we book on a first come basis. If another client books first and our schedule becomes full, your order will be cancelled. This will apply even if you are still within your 2 days which is why we always suggest securing your event day right away. Unfortunately, we do not hold spots on our calendars without a payment.
  • What if I need to cancel my order?
We do not refund in the event of a customer cancellation. However, we can credit your account for the paid amount which can be used on a future order. Keep in mind when you book we block off that date and will turn other orders down.
  • How long does it take to receive a quote?
We typically ask for 24 hours to reply, however we strive to provide faster responses. Sometimes emails may go to spam on either end. We always ask that you add our email to your address book (hello@garnishedfoods.com) in order to make sure you receive our emails. If you do not receive a response within 24 hours, email us right away and let us know you sent an inquiry. Emails from you guys sometimes get lost in spam as well.

  • Is there a retainer fee?
Yes, you can expect to pay a 50% deposit of the total amount on your order. Retainers are non-refundable and non transferable. Please note, the retainer is to secure your date only. Your order is NOT complete until the balance is paid in full.
  • What if my invoice has the wrong information?
It is your responsibility to read thoroughly through the invoice to check for any mistakes especially regarding the following; date of event, time of pickup or delivery, cake flavors, general information details which include, but not limited to NAMES and WORDING.

Once we have established that you are OK with your quote, selected your flavors and gave us details regarding your order, we will create an invoice using the information you submitted on your inquiry.
  • What if I am unhappy with my order?
In the event you experience any issues with your order you must contact us within (1) day of the event. In these instances we will ask that the cake be returned so that we can sample and/or make any judgements necessary regarding your dissatisfaction. After 24 hours have lapsed, we will not entertain any issues there after. This clause does not guarantee or warrant a refund, we will simply take in to account and sympathize with your request and decide on the proper outcome. Our #1 priority is our customer satisfaction, therefore we will do everything we can to make sure we are fair. You must also take into account that every baker/store will be different and use different products. There should be no comparison to what you have previously had especially if it’s a product that we did not create.
  • What happens if I need to cancel due to a pandemic and/or inclement weather?
We fully intend to continue with orders regardless of most situations. However, either party may choose to be excused of any further performance obligations in the event of a disastrous occurrence outside the control of either party, such as, but not limited to: - A natural disaster (fires, explosions, earthquakes, hurricane, flooding, storms or infestation); or - War, Invasion, Act of Foreign Enemies, Embargo, or other Hostility (whether declared or not); or - Any hazardous situation created outside the control of either party such as a riot, disorder, nuclear leak or explosion, or act or threat of terrorism. BUT you must note that we prefer not to copy images and instead would like to put our own spin on the design.
  • Can I make changes to my cake after I order?

Your event is now booked with us and we will be in contact closer to your event date to ensure every detail is still accurate and you will receive additional information pertaining to pickup or delivery. You can also contact us freely and will be provided with our contact information on your invoice.
